What a pub is to the British, a chiringuito is to Spaniards. Some even say that no beach is complete without a beach bar. While some chiringuitos are small and unassuming, others have achieved cult status. They all have one thing in common: they are the perfect place to spend the day with family or to unwind in the evening. Let us take you to what we believe are the best beach bars in Mallorca.

A chiringuito is a small beach restaurant or bar typically found on the beaches along the coast of Spain. It’s a place where you can relax after a day at the beach and enjoy fresh meals, drinks, and ice cream. Even though the word chiringuito isn’t related to “chilling,” that’s exactly what you can do there. With your feet in the sand and your kids playing nearby. In this article, we have something for everyone: beach bars for a family beach day, places to sip cocktails, with the best sunsets, and chill live music. Let’s explore the beach bars in Mallorca!
Enhanced Comfort: The Most Beautiful Beach Clubs in Mallorca
The Best Beach Bars in the North
Embat Beach, Puerto Pollensa
Embat Beach
Bahía de Pollensa
Paseo Londres, s/n
07470, Puerto de Pollensa
Embat Beach is right on the waterfront. With your feet in the sand, you can relax and unwind here. They offer good food and delicious cocktails at reasonable prices. Overall, this beach bar is very cozy. In the evenings, a DJ occasionally plays chill music.
Additionally, the management is very environmentally conscious. Sometimes, they have promotions where you can get a free beer for every cup full of cigarette butts collected from the beach.
Ponderosa Beach, Playa de Muro
Ponderosa Beach
12:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Facebook
This is the classic chiringuito between Port d’Alcúdia and Can Picafort. In terms of both style and menu, few beach bars in Mallorca can compare. It features a shabby chic decor and has been family-run since 1967. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and they serve local food. The beach bar is located right on Playa de Muro, one of the beaches we list among the most family-friendly beaches in Mallorca.
As part of stricter enforcement of coastal protection laws, the Ponderosa Beach house, along with several other beach bars, had to reduce its outdoor space in 2022. There’s now not as much space as before, but it’s still beautiful.
Natura Beach, Playa de Muro
Natura Beach
10 AM – 6 PM
April to October
In the cozy atmosphere of Natura Beach chiringuito on Playa de Muro, you can enjoy fresh fish, hamburgers, and paella right on the beach. You’ll find the bar at Balneario 7 directly at the beach access. The beach bar is somewhat hidden, offering both seclusion and great views of the blue sea.
There are about forty tables where you can relax with your feet in the sand, listening to chill music and the sound of the waves. The decor is very light and bright. On the menu, you’ll find classics like hamburgers, salad, and sandwiches. But also plenty of seafood dishes and very typical paella. And don’t forget to try delicious cocktails and tapas at this beach bar.
The Best Beach Bars in the East & Southeast
Coco Beach House Cala Ratjada
Coco Beach House
9 AM – 12 AM
cocomallorca.com
Among all the beach bars in Mallorca, Coco Beach House epitomizes the essence of a chiringuito. Here, you’ll find everything you need for a perfect beach day: ocean views, delicious cocktails, paella, vegan dishes, and lounge chairs. With its wide opening hours, you can come for breakfast and stay until dinner.
Moreover, Coco Beach House is also a visual delight. Everything is tastefully decorated with a lot of style and attention to detail. Everything here just fits perfectly. While the prices may not be the cheapest, they are still within the range of what’s normal for a venue in this location.
Cala Sa Nau
Cala Sa Nau
10 am – 10 pm
Nestled in a deeply cut bay, within a dense pine forest, behind many steps, lies the beach of Cala Sa Nau. It’s pleasant but not necessarily spectacular in itself. What makes it one of the most popular beaches in the southeast is the small beach bar.
The chiringuito here has cult status, probably because there’s regular live music on weekends. The rest of the time, relaxed Café del Mar vibes play in the background.
Cala Llombards
Until recently, the chiringuito on Cala Llombards beach had a bad reputation. The service was terrible, and the prices were outrageous. Then there was a change in ownership. The new owner first changed the style of the beach bar and then the menu. They now offer an extensive wine list and fresh food at a good value for money.
The beach is also very family-friendly. The water is shallow, and you can rent lounge chairs, sun umbrellas, and even pedal boats. For those who need more activity, you can take a little trip to the rock arch Es Pontàs. The beach is also suitable as a starting point for exploring Mallorca’s coast with stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).
5Illes, Colonia de Sant Jordi
This beach bar isn’t even that old yet. However, within a few years, it has made a name for itself across the island. 5Illes is located in Colonia Sant Jordi, on the nearby stretch of beach that is often mistakenly referred to as the beginning of Es Trenc. In reality, the beach is called Es Moli de s’Estany and officially belongs to Campos, not Colonia Sant Jordi.
But those are all minor details. What’s important to know is that this beach bar, nestled lightly in a pine forest, is also appealing to families. The menu offers international cuisine of high quality. It’s especially beautiful here in the evening hours. In the summer, the sun sets right over the water. Children can play on the beach until late into the darkness in a relaxed atmosphere.
S’Embat, Es Trenc
4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Facebook, Instagram
The Playa Es Trenc, once the mecca of beach bars in Mallorca, now has to do without them. Since the area was declared a nature reserve, only smaller stalls on the beach are allowed to sell, which have little charm, few seating options, and only a small menu.
Maintaining this position is S’Embat in Ses Covetes. Not a classic beach bar in the traditional sense, as it’s located a bit away from the beach. You can’t even see the sea from there. But it’s still close enough to capture the relaxed feeling of the beach. The bar has achieved cult status among locals, mainly because of its reggae vibes and chill atmosphere, where many choose to end their beach day.
Beautiful Beach Bars in the West of Mallorca
Tabgha Beach Club, Portals Nous
9 am – 9 pm
www.tabgha.es
At the spot where the famous Roxy Beach Club once attracted VIPs, you’ll now find the Tabgha Beachclub, operated by Caritas and the Diocese of Mallorca. The former beach club in Puerto Portals, a trendy “It-spot” in Mallorca, popular especially among boat owners and celebrities, exuded a hip Ibiza atmosphere and offered breathtaking sunsets, making it one of the most coveted summer hotspots in the Balearic Islands. And surely will be again.
Because the Tabgha Beachclub has more to offer than just luxury and relaxation. Here, you can not only enjoy your time to the fullest but also do good. All profits from the beach club are used to build a shelter that provides temporary accommodation to needy families while they search for a permanent home in the tight Mallorcan housing market.
The name Tabgha is a reference to the Israeli town where, according to tradition, Jesus miraculously multiplied bread and fish to feed 5,000 people. For you, the menu is much more extensive. From 9 AM to 9 PM daily, you can enjoy delicious breakfast, fresh salads, tasty snacks, and the typical Mallorcan pa amb oli.
Il Chiringo, Palmanova
Il Chiringo
10 am – 2 am
The Chiringuito II on the beach of Palmanova is a fantastic beach restaurant located right by the sea, offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean. It’s a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, providing a diverse selection of authentic Spanish dishes prepared right on the beach. The service is always friendly and efficient, while the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy.
One of the first beach bars in Mallorca, with its own unique, original charm, is Il Chiringo in Palmanova. The food is excellent, and it’s said they mix the best Long Island Ice Teas. For a pleasant evening atmosphere, a DJ spins tunes, and a specialized bartender ensures that every cocktail is just right.
Restaurante Sa Foradada, Deià
Na Foradada
10 am – 9 pm
Not exactly a beach bar in the traditional sense, but still close to the sea, although it is impossible to dangle your feet in the water. However, the sunsets here are the best. Against the backdrop of the Sa Foradada rock formation, everyone gets into the right mood, even without alcoholic beverages.
As this spot near the Son Marroig country house is very popular, it can get a bit crowded in the evenings during the summer, even on the viewing platform in front of it. This spot is one of the best for breathtaking sunsets in Mallorca. So, it’s definitely advisable to reserve a spot in the bar in advance.
